Papal Visit - a flurry of activity . . .

There seems to be a sudden increase in information coming from the Papal Visit organisers. The Twitter feed has a flurry of tweets today including a link to the weekly audio update here.

In this update Mgr Andrew Summersgill talks about arrangements for Pilgrims, including the decision to reduce the Pilgrim contribution for Hyde Park to £5. Good news for Pilgrims but more work for those parishes where monies have already been collected (like ours) and refunds now have to be arranged.

He also mentions the launch of the online souvenirs shop (glad to see I got in early on that one! :-)).

For anyone on Twitter who doesn't know about the Papal Visit feed it's well worth adding - @thepapalvisit

How did that happen? . . .

I have somehow managed to get my blog listed on the Catholic Blog Directory. Not to be confused with British Catholic Blogs. Now, I don't know how this happened but I have to admit to being quite flattered that somebody would consider including this little blog.

I'm curious to know how this happens. Do they have someone who keeps on an eye on all new blogs looking out for Catholic ones? I can't imagine that, somehow. Or, is it just a case of someone spotting your blog on someone else's blogroll or a reference on another blog to yours.

As I've mentioned before, I didn't set out to make this a particularly 'Catholic ' blog but as I am a practising Catholic, from time to time I do comment on aspects of my faith and I hope also that sometimes my faith is apparent in some of the other things I comment on. We shouldn't after all 'compartmentalise' our faith so it should be apparent in everything we do, shouldn't it?

Thanks to whoever is responsible. Why not go and have a look at the list and investigate some of the blogs that might be new to you too.

Another response to THAT bus ad ...

My brother has just pointed out to me that there's another Facebook group set up to counteract the Richard Dawkins atheist bus ad campaign.

Here is an extract from the page:

In response to the recent campaign - 'There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life', we've started another campaign.

'There probably is a God. Now stop worrying and start looking for him. He is everywhere.'

This group are selling flyers (as above). I think I would prefer it if it were more positive and said,

'There is a God. Now stop worrying ...'

Incidentally, I've yet to see one of these bus adverts 'in the flesh'. I'm beginning to wonder if they're just a figment of Richard Dawkins' imagination!
